Englische Projekt-Vorstellung
Gabina, 38, is a borrower who lives in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She is the coordinator for her group, Mujeres Luchadoras (Fighting Women), and her story is representative of those in her group and other Dominican and Haitian borrowers at Esperanza International. Gabina and her husband have three children and live in a simple home in Santiago, the second largest city in the Dominican Republic. Urban areas of the Dominican Republic are very overcrowded and can be rough, with no potable running water, frequent power outages (if one has power to begin with), and inadequate healthcare. Despite these difficulties, Gabina runs a successful “miscellaneous” store, mostly selling clothing. With this loan, Gabina plans to purchase clothing, shoes, and sheet sets to sell for a small profit to her friends and neighbors. This is Gabina’s fourth loan with Esperanza International, and she hopes to continue taking out loans to grow her business and improve the home life of her family. With the profits, she hopes to pay for the construction of new walls in her home. Construction is typically done in stages in the Dominican Republic: as cash becomes available, one builds new parts of the home. The new walls would give her family more privacy and create a more comfortable space in which to live. Gabina will also purchase schoolbooks and shoes for her children. Gabina hopes to continue her dream as a businesswoman, as well as provide a great education for her children with her business profits. Esperanza International seeks to free children and their families through initiatives that generate income, education and health, restoring self-worth and dignity to those who have lost hope. We have over 8,500 active associates in eleven offices in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Thank you for lending to Gabina and the Mujeres Luchadoras group!Text jetzt automatisch übersetzen .
